Potential victims contacted by the TVCC are warned about the risks associated with sending money to persons they don't know personally, and giving personal or financial information to unknown callers. Potential victims are advised of fraud warning signs, such as pressured solicitations to wire money, or of offers to have a courier service pick up a check or money order directly from the potential victim's house. Potential victims are urged to protect themselves by obtaining re-contact information from solicitors, and requesting printed materials before sending money. Finally, potential victims are offered a fraud prevention kit which is sent to them by the TVCC free of charge.
