Telephone lines accommodating approximately 25 callers, calling
expenses, and lunches for volunteer callers are furnished by
AT&T Wireless Services (AT&TWS). Volunteer callers staffing
the TVCC are recruited through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program
(RSVP). Training and on-going research on telemarketing fraud,
printed materials used by the volunteer callers, and bright yellow
"Fraud Fighter" uniforms are all furnished by the American
Association of Retired Persons (AARP). Private partners (AT&TWS,
WISE Senior Services and RSVP) look to the FBI and other members
of the Boiler-room and Telemarketing (BAT) Task Force for guidance
and leadership in handling any difficult situation which may
arise. In some instances, immediate law enforcement action is
required to stop on-going fraud, and BAT Task Force members always
stand ready to assist.
