"IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES" BANDIT ROBS TWO MORE BANKS, ONE SATURDAY AND ONE TODAY, NOW SUSPECTED IN 16 BANK ROBBERIES SINCE DECEMBER - BANKS OFFER REWARD

A bank robber known as the "Irreconcilable Differences" bandit robbed in Ventura County on Saturday and in Orange County this afternoon, adding two banks to the most recent list, released on Friday, when he approached tellers at three different banks in Los Angeles County and demanded cash.

On Saturday morning, June 2nd, the unidentified white male robbed a Citibank in Santa Barbara, wearing a long-sleeved shirt and khaki pants, according to witnesses, who said the bandit threatened a weapon and carried a black pouch. During today's robbery at a California National Bank in Newport Beach, the bandit wore a light blue Oxford-style shirt with a pink tie, and carried what witnesses described as a small black vinyl bag. During today's robbery, the bandit apologized to the teller and mentioned he was going through "hard times."

During Friday's bank robberies, the bandit first attempted to rob a bank in Burbank but did not receive money from the teller. The bandit did, however, rob two banks subsequently in Burbank and Glendale, where he successfully got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. During Friday's robberies, all of which occurred between 1:00pm and 2:00pm, the bandit was dressed in a white pinstriped shirt with black dress slacks. His demand notes threatened a weapon and during the Glendale robbery, he apologized to the victim teller several times for having to rob the bank.

The FBI and multiple police departments in Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange Counties are seeking the public's assistance in locating the bank robber known as the Irreconcilable Differences Bandit, a bandit investigators believe is responsible for robbing sixteen banks since December 22nd, 2006, and a separate street robbery in the city of Beverly Hills on December 14th, 2006.

The Irreconcilable Differences bandit was named after he robbed the first bank on December 22nd in Beverly Hills, when he approached the counter and told the victim teller he was going through a divorce and that he needed help in wiring money. The bandit requested that the wire transfer be done is such a way so that his wife's attorney would not learn of it. The bandit then instructed the teller to read a note on which he demanded money, and then verbally threatened a gun and a bomb. In at least one robbery, a witness reported that the subject brandished a revolver. The unidentified male is described below and has been seen leaving the earlier bank robberies in an older white Honda Accord.

Weight: 150 - 175 lbs.
Age: 45 to 55
Build: Medium
Hair: Sandy or salt & pepper, worn short
Facial Hair: Clean shaven
Apparel: Polo shirt, pants, nylon jacket and aviator-style sunglasses
Weapon: Threatens weapon and brandished in at least one robbery

A reward of up to $6,000 is being offered by Wells Fargo and Bank of America for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the Irreconcilable Differences Bandit, suspected in the below-listed robberies. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the Irreconcilable Differences Bandit is urged to contact the FBI or their local police department.
